Organic September - Better for People, Planet and Pollinators - 15th September 2018 - 2.30pm
In celebration of Organic September we will be discussing the benefits of going Organic for People, the planet and our all important pollinators.
Harriette will lead you through a whirlwind tour of the history of Organic farming, where it came from and where we are now. There are a lot of misconceptions around organic farming and what is and isn't allowed so she'll separate the fact from the fiction. Organic farming is well know to improve biodiversity and support soil stability. Harriette will discuss why this is important and it's implications for the future of food security and climate change.
Beverley will discuss the health benefits of eating organically and explain some of the research. She will guide you through which foods to prioritise sourcing organically and explain the "dirty dozen" and the "clean fifteen".
All attendees will receive a hand out with tips for going organic along with a list of local organic producers.
